Background: The pathophysiology and treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) and Cubital Tunnel Syndrome (CuTS) has been extensively studied. However, the incidence of concomitant CTS and CuTS has not been clearly defined. The New York Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative System (SPARCS) is a comprehensive database of all patients admitted to an inpatient or outpatient medical facility in New York State. Using the SPARCS database to investigate the incidence of cubital and carpal tunnel syndromes, we hypothesize that the surgical management of concomitant CTS and CuTS is not only common, but is increasing.
